International Gold Event

Prague, Czech Republic, October 25–30 2017

The international Gold Event is a global leadership programme for the immediate and next-generation of decision-makers and influencers within the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award worldwide.

Participants from all over the world gather together to develop character and leadership skills, and to contribute to policy development for Award practice. The 2017 theme is Engaging a younger generation in our sustainable future.

Nominations from the New Zealand Gold Award community are being sought from someone who has achieved or currently nearing the end of their Gold Award between the ages of 20 – 35 years. The nominee is to be active in the Award, a person who the New Zealand Award community has confidence can represent Aotearoa New Zealand in the forum. The successful nominee would be expected to continue to be active and contribute to the Award locally on their return.

Criteria:

  • Achievement of, or active engagement in, gaining their Gold Award;
  • Commitment to the local Award programme through active engagement;
  • Success in their professional/student career, volunteering life and civil society;
  • Potential and desire to rise to the highest levels of volunteer or professional leadership.

If you are interested in applying to be considered as a New Zealand delegate, please complete the application form attached as a Microsoft Word file and return to the National Office by Monday 1st May 2017.

The participant fee of Euro 450 and a contribution of NZD $1,000 towards airfares and expenses will be provided to the attendee by the National Office.
