Everybody Eats works towards reducing food waste, targeting food poverty, and combatting social isolation in New Zealand.
Voluntary Service Provider
Everybody Eats is partnering with the Award as a Voluntary Service provider. Award participants can do the Voluntary Service section of their Award through volunteering at one of the Everybody Eats locations.
It's fun, welcoming, and you'll be fully supported with buddy systems in place. We have 3 current locations:
- Onehunga - 5 day operation (Sunday - Thursday)
- Karangahape Rd - Monday Pop-Up
- Wellington Central - 3 day operation (Sunday - Tuesday)
Everybody Eats is not-for-profit, pay-as-you-feel dining concept. We take food that would otherwise go to waste and turn it into restaurant-quality meals, served at the table by volunteers. Volunteer duties and hours are varied and include afternoon hours helping to sort rescue food and prepare the evening meals under the guidance of our head chef and a team of supportive regular volunteers, or evening shifts which are short and sweet from 5:30 till around 8:30 helping with dishing up the meals, dishwashing, or serving meals to our guests at the table.
Register to volunteer - this will allow you to be eligible for your Award hours plus build attendance within our own database which we like to reward at certain milestones to thank you for your support.
Volunteers can gain food prep experience, teamwork and communication skills, and front of house hospitality experience while working with a diverse group of people.
