Search The Way has been set up as a ministry of encouragement to help others discover more about who they are and what their purpose in life is. They haven’t met anyone yet who isn’t great at something! They want people to be inspired to start seeking far horizons and support them to step out and achieve set goals.
Search the Way is an Accredited Provider of the Adventurous Journey and Adventurous Journey Training sections of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award. With excellent staff and amazing programmes, Search the Way provide training, resources, and outdoor learning journeys to empower personal development and get you closer to completing your Award. They will inspire you, challenge you and enable personal growth is an exciting and positive way.
At Search the Way, as a Duke of Edinburgh’s Open Award Centre, they help participants based in the West Coast and Top of the South Island with the following:
SKILLS: Individual Pathway Planning; Award and ORB Orientation; Mentoring as a participant’s Award Leader; Liaison with participants chosen Skills Assessor
PHYSICAL RECREATION: Individual Pathway Planning; Award and ORB Orientation; Mentoring as a participant’s Award Leader; Access to some day walking and tramping activities; Liaison with participants chosen Physical Recreation Assessor
SERVICE: Individual Pathway Planning; Award and ORB Orientation; Mentoring as a participant’s Award Leader; Information about local Service Projects; Liaison with participants chosen Service Assessor
ADVENTUROUS JOURNEY: Individual Pathway Planning; Award and ORB Orientation; Mentoring as a participant’s Award Leader; Adventurous Journey Preparation and Training; Access to Practice and Qualifying Journey opportunities, primarily run on the West Coast of the South Island, as a Duke of Edinburgh’s AAP; Liaison with other Adventurous Journey Providers
